Last year Bhaya Group launched “Save the Langur” campaign which received great support from our passenger and crew.
A family from Mill Valley, California took a trip on Bhaya Cruise and knew about our Campaign. The little girl was very interested in the Cat Ba Langurs. When she went home, she raised $1080 by selling her cookies and lemonade for Cat Ba Langur Conservation Project.
More about our “Save the Langur” and other CSR initiatives
Continuing the success of last year, this month Bhaya Group has re-launched the campaign. On March 3, a kick-off event was organized at Bhaya Group Cruise Center.
The campaign is running on all Bhaya Group’s online and offline channels. The information regarding the campaign and the Langur status has been kept updated on all official websites and social platforms. “Save the Langur” banner and flyer are being displayed at Bhaya Cruise Center as well as at public areas onboard. All the materials aim to spread widely a clear message of protecting Cat Ba Langur which is now on the edge of extinction.
Each and every staff of Bhaya Group is a campaign ambassador who will spread this message. Also, handmade stuffed Langur toy, printed T-shirts and caps are sold onboard as the souvenir for passengers. Half of the profit will go directly to Cat Ba Langur Conservation Project fund.
Furthermore, the campaign helps to raise community awareness and educate especially children, who are the future of the world, about ecological balance and to treasure the blue planet. Emme is a typical example.
At the kick-off event, Bhaya Group had the honor to welcome Mr. Neahga Leonard – Director of Cat Ba Langur Conservation Project. He shared the good news that there were three new Langur babies born during the last year which increased the total number of Langur to 59 individuals. As a result of all the excellent preservation effort, Cat Ba Langur population is on the rise after plummeting for decades.
