Disaster Relief – Viet Hai Village

During the summer of 2015, Viet Hai Village on Cat Ba Island experienced unprecedented floods. Visiting the village is one of the highlights of our cruises itineraries. More than 100 families were stuck in the disaster with the majority of properties sustaining serious damage. 

Bhaya Group initiated an urgent campaign calling for action from all our partners, the general public and customers to collect food, water, clothes, stationery, and money. After access routes were re-established we delivered the relief in the form of clothes, blankets, food and stationary for the elementary students by undertaking several trips to the island. The Group further donated 60 million VND in cash to help most heavily affected families.

It was an incredibly proud moment to see how everyone came together at a critical time to help those in their hour of need. In October 2015 we were able to include Viet Hai on our itineraries again, which brought much-needed tourism back to the area.
