The awards were to honor for enterprises, individuals, and organizations that had contributed positively for Vietnam’s tourism sector in 2019. Only 5 cruise lines were chosen and Bhaya Cruises was recognized as the best Cruise Company in Vietnam 2019 for its excellent services, strong growth, and green efforts in maintaining the sustainable Halong Bay.
Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Award (VNATA) ceremony took place in Viet Xo Cultural Palace, Hanoi in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam also Head of the State Steering Committee on Tourism; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; and high-ranking officials from Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) among many others.
Launched in 1999, VNATA is the most prestigious annual award of the country’s tourism sector, honoring national leading enterprises with significant contributions to the country’s tourism development.
This year’s awards were given to leading firms across 16 categories, including the top 10 tour operators of inbound, outbound, and domestic services, the top 10 five-star hotels, the top 10 four-star hotels, an airline carrying the largest number of passengers, a carrier with the highest passenger growth, top five tourist waterway tourism companies, top five cruise lines, top five best restaurants, top five entertainment areas, top three tourist rest stops, top ten golf courses, top five tourism investors, top five tourism training institutions and top five tourism media companies.
Comparing with previous years, this year’s award included two new extra categories: tourism training institutions and tourism media companies.
“Over the past 20 years, the awards have contributed to improving the quality of tourism services, building the national tourism brand, and developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector,” said Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Chairman of VNAT.
The award ceremony was attended by representatives from renowned international brands such as Intercontinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi, and Four Seasons.
Persuading Board of Jury with impressive achievements in 2018 with a large number of passengers, 5* reviews from guests, and great contribution for the tourism industry, Bhaya Cruises has received the award Vietnam’s best cruise line in Halong Bay in 2019 from this prestigious category. By welcoming nearly 100,000 passengers annually, Bhaya Cruises has firmed its seat to be the pioneer of overnight cruises in Halong Bay.
