Bhaya Cruises

A Legacy of Excellence on Ha Long Bay

Since 2007, Bhaya Cruises has led the evolution of luxury cruising in Ha Long Bay, setting industry standards for excellence, innovation, and sustainability. As one of the pioneers introducing overnight voyages in Northern Vietnam, Bhaya has grown into the region’s most trusted and recognized cruise operator, commanding a diverse fleet of 10 unique vessels. From intimate, single-cabin journeys crafted for privacy and personalization to elegantly restored heritage cruisers exploring exclusive routes across Ha Long, Lan Ha, and Bai Tu Long Bays, Bhaya continues to redefine luxury travel in Vietnam and South East Asia. Guided by a vision to elevate Ha Long Bay to global prominence, Bhaya Cruises blends vivid Vietnamese hospitality with international professionalism, offering transformative journeys that inspire, connect, and endure.

Travel to the Best of Ha Long Bay Cruise with Bhaya

Experience the top rated Ha Long Bay cruises with Bhaya, where a fleet of 10 ships offers one of the best cruises. Blending comfort, culture, and breathtaking scenery, Bhaya is the perfect way to cruise Ha Long Bay Vietnam in style. Your unforgettable escape begins the moment you step aboard.

One of the biggest differences between cruises in Ha Long Bay is the route they follow, and this can significantly impact your overall experience. Many standard cruises stay within the central areas of Halong Bay, where traffic can be heavier and itineraries tend to overlap. In contrast, The Au Co Cruise is known for offering one of the most expansive routes in the region. Depending on the itinerary, it sails not only through Halong Bay but also extends into Lan Ha Bay and even reaches areas near Cat Ba Island, with some longer journeys covering parts of Bai Tu Long Bay as well.

This broader routing allows guests to experience a wider range of landscapes—from iconic limestone formations to quieter lagoons, beaches, and local villages that are harder to access on shorter or more conventional routes. It also reduces time spent in crowded zones and increases the sense of exploration. For travelers who want more than just the “highlight reel” of Halong Bay, this kind of multi-bay journey offers a deeper and more varied perspective of the region.

For most travelers visiting Ha Long Bay for the first time, an overnight cruise is well worth it. A day trip gives you a quick look at the scenery, but it often feels rushed and crowded, especially during peak hours. Staying overnight allows you to experience the bay at its most memorable—sunset over the limestone islands, peaceful early mornings, and quieter moments away from the busiest routes. What sets The Au Co Cruise apart is how it uses that extra time. Instead of just extending the schedule, it offers a more immersive journey with fewer interruptions, including continuous cruising routes that reach less-visited areas, making the overall experience feel more relaxed and complete.

Most overnight cruises in Ha Long Bay include activities like kayaking, cave visits, swimming, and onboard experiences such as Tai Chi or cooking demonstrations. The difference often comes down to how those activities are delivered. On many cruises, stops can feel crowded or rushed, which takes away from the experience.

With The Au Co Cruise, activities are designed to feel more intentional and less hectic. Guests typically have more time at each stop, access to quieter locations, and opportunities to connect with the local culture in a more meaningful way. This makes the experience feel less like a checklist and more like a well-paced journey.

On most overnight cruises in Ha Long Bay, the base price usually includes your cabin, meals, entrance fees, and scheduled activities. Extras like drinks, spa services, and personal purchases are typically not included.

With The Au Co Cruise, the pricing reflects a more premium, all-around experience. Guests can expect higher-quality dining, more spacious accommodations, and thoughtfully designed itineraries that avoid unnecessary transfers or rushed schedules. While the initial cost may be higher than some alternatives, many travelers find the overall value stronger because the experience feels more seamless and less compromised.

The drive from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay is about 150 kilometers, which usually takes around two and a half to four hours. The route is straightforward and comfortable thanks to modern highways. For guests traveling with The Au Co Cruise, the transfer is typically smooth and well-organized, with 9-seater limousine or private car options that align closely with cruise departure times. That coordination helps reduce waiting around and makes the overall journey feel easy and manageable, even on a tight itinerary.

Cruise Departs: 12:00 PM

(*) Transportation will start between 8:30 and 9:00 AM, depending on your pick-up location. The drive to Ha Long usually takes around 2.5 hours.
In case you want to schedule the Ha Long cruise on the same day of landing at Noi Bai airport, the flight landing time should be around 6:00 – 7:00 AM at the latest (and earlier if it’s an international flight and you need to go through customs).
The journey begins at the Bhaya Cruise Center within Tuan Chau International Marina, where guests are welcomed aboard The Au Co. After settling into the cabin, the experience opens with a safety briefing at Halong Restaurant, followed by an introduction to the Cruise Manager and crew, setting a warm and assured tone for the voyage ahead.

As the vessel glides southeast into Ha Long Bay, lunch is served against a backdrop of passing limestone formations, including Trong Mai Islet, Ngon Tay Islet, and Con Coc Islet. The afternoon leads to the Cua Van Floating Culture Center, a distinctive enclave once recognised by Travel + Leisure for its captivating character. Here, exploration unfolds by kayak or traditional rowing boat, offering an intimate perspective on life upon the water.
Back on board, the cruise continues toward Lan Ha Bay, where clear emerald waters invite a refreshing swim before the day transitions into a more leisurely pace. As evening approaches, the sundeck becomes a vantage point for sunset, accompanied by a relaxed Happy Hour. Dinner follows in the restaurant, complemented by a Vietnamese rice wine tasting that introduces regional varieties and traditions. The night remains open to quiet enjoyment, whether over drinks, or on the main deck trying a hand at squid fishing beneath the bay’s evening sky.

Cruise Disembarkation: 10:00 AM
(*) If you book a return transfer to Hanoi or Noi Bai Airport, you will arrive in central Hanoi/ the airport at around 1:30 – 2:30 PM (depending on traffic conditions and the type of transport). Please take these times into consideration when booking your onward flight, train, or bus to your next destination.
Day two begins at first light with a revitalising Tai Chi session on deck, as sunrise illuminates the limestone seascape of Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The gentle practice offers a moment of clarity and balance before breakfast is served, preparing for the morning’s final excursion to Tien Ong Cave. Known for its archaeological significance and striking natural formations, the cave reveals a quieter, more contemplative side of the bay.
Returning on board, there is time to gather belongings and enjoy a final breakfast as the cruise makes its way back. Check-out procedures are completed at reception before disembarkation at Tuan Chau International Marina, marking a graceful close to the journey, a farewell shaped by calm moments and lasting impressions. Hẹn gặp lại.
